Scored Smooth and Split
Scored block is created using a single mold and includes one or more scores or mortar grooves. Many scored units are designed so that the vertical scores will appear in a finished wall as unwavering straight lines or stack bond, even if laid in regular running bond with alternating joints over the center of the unit and with courses both above and below. The vertical score simulates the mortar joints of the units above and below, thus reducing the perceived scale of the masonry. Units with one vertical score for instance, will give the appearance of an 8x8 in. block when an 8x16 in. block is used.
